8.2.4 G1000 Backup Path Tests
Before performing these tests, remove power from both displays by pulling the PFD and MFD circuit
breakers. Reboot the PFD and MFD while holding the ENT key on each display until the words
INITIALIZING SYSTEM appear.
NOTE
Screen shots in this section reflect the latest system software. For software version
0321.19 and earlier, data indicators are depicted as solid green, red, or black squares for
valid, invalid, and unknown states, respectively.
1. In configuration mode, go to the GDU Page Group on the PFD.
2. On the PFD, activate the cursor and select PFD1 in the SELECT UNIT field and press ENT.
3. Observe the GRS 77 and GDC 74 DATA indicators in the ARINC 429 window.
4. Verify both indicators are GREEN (green check), indicating the channels are receiving data as
shown below:

5. On the PFD, activate the cursor and select MFD1 in the SELECT UNIT field and press the ENT
key. MFD 1 indications will be the same as presented in Figure 8-1.
6. Repeat Steps 3 and 4.
