a) Inspect the servos, servo mounts, connectors, support structures, and
control cables to ensure that no corrosion, chaffing, cracks, or other
defects exist.
b) Have an assistant manually move the ailerons (for roll servo), elevators
(for pitch servo) and elevator trim wheel (for pitch trim servo) from stop
to stop and visually observe the servo, servo mount, and control
cabling/chain. Ensure there is no binding in the control cabling or
chain, and that the capstan/sprocket rotates freely.
c) Check the servo control cables to ensure no fraying, corrosion, or other
damage exists. If the condition of the cable is questionable, replace it
with a new one.
d) Check the tension of the pitch and roll control cables and the pitch trim
chain. Refer to the following servo installation drawings for cable and
chain tension specifications:

e) Ensure that each cable is correctly attached to the clamps, and that the
chain is secure on the sprockets.
f) Follow Diamond’s recommended checks for checking main
control rods, following the instructions in Chapter 27, Flight
Controls, of the Diamond Airplane Maintenance Manual.
g) Inspect the servo wiring and ensure no chaffing, wear, or other damage
exists.
GRS 77
a) Inspect the GRS 77 unit, rack, and connector for corrosion or other defects.
b) Inspect both braided ground straps to the GRS rack and ensure they are in
good condition.
Iridium and Wi-Fi
Antennas
(If Installed)
a) Inspect the Iridium and Wi-Fi antennas and associated mounting hardware.
Ensure the antennas and brackets are securely fastened to the aircraft
structure. Inspect the hardware for evidence of corrosion, cracking, or other
damage.
b) Inspect antenna coaxial cabling and connectors for chaffing, wear, or other
damage.
