GEA 71
If software was loaded to a new GDU display, be sure that the
user settings for the replaced display were cleared. Clear user
settings by pressing the CLR key on the replaced display while
applying power to it. Acknowledge the on-screen prompt by
pressing the ENT key or the right-most softkey.
Ensure the GEA is online (green checkmark on the
AUX – SYSTEM STATUS page) .
9 If GEA is not online verify unit is receiving power.
9 If problem persists, check GIA/GEA interconnects.
9 If problem persists, load configuration files to both GIA’s
and both GEA’s.
9 If problem persists, replace the GEA 71
Check corresponding engine/airframe sensors and wiring
Check for GEA related alert messages on the PFD.
Verify GEA internal power supply, configuration, and calibration
status in configuration mode.
9 Configuration and calibration boxes should be green. If
they are red, replace the GEA 71.
9 With GDU software version 4.00 or higher, the INT PWR
SUPPLY box should be green. If red check for shorts on
power sensor input and check corresponding
engine/airframe sensors and wiring. Systems with GDU
software versions less than 4.00 will display a red box,
indicating proper operation.
Verify internal, external, and reference voltages listed in the Main
Analog and I/O A Analog boxes are not dashed out (does not
include Aircraft Power 1 and 2).
9 If any voltages are dashed out, replace GEA 71.
Load configuration files to both GIA’s and the GEA.
Replace GEA configuration module and backshell thermocouple
(only for red X’d engine temperatures):
9 If problem persists, replace defective GEA 71
