G/S1 SERVICE – G/S1 needs
service. Return unit for repair.
The system has detected a failure
in G/S1 receiver.
Replace GIA1.
G/S2 SERVICE – G/S2 needs
service. Return unit for repair.
The system has detected a failure
in G/S1 receiver.
Replace GIA2.
G/S1 FAIL – G/S1 is inoperative.
The system has detected a failure
in G/S1 receiver.
Check glideslope antenna and cabling
Switch GIA1 and GIA2, to verify location
of problem.
9 If problem follows the unit,
replace the bad GIA.
G/S2 FAIL – G/S2 is inoperative.
The system has detected a failure
in G/S2 receiver.
5.10.4 GPS Alerts
NOTE
Before troubleshooting, ensure that no cell phones or devices using cell phone technology
are turned on, even in a monitoring state, in the cabin.

MANIFEST – GPS1 software
mismatch. Communication
Halted.
The system has detected an
incorrect software version loaded
in GIA1.
Load correct software.
See Section 3.5 for the Software
Loading procedure.
MANIFEST – GPS2 software
mismatch. Communication
Halted.
The system has detected an
incorrect software version loaded
in GIA1.
GPS1 SERVICE – GPS1 needs
service. Return unit for repair.
The system has detected a failure
in GPS1 receiver.
Replace appropriate GIA. Note that for
WAAS units, this message may be
triggered by a low or defective internal
battery (GPS may still be usable).
GPS2 SERVICE – GPS2 needs
service. Return unit for repair.
The system has detected a failure
in GPS2 receiver.
GPS1 FAIL – GPS1 is inoperative.
The system has detected a failure
in GPS1 receiver.
Check GPS antenna and cabling for
improper wear or signal loss.
Verify that the correct GIA 63s are
installed.
Check the GIA reporting status in
configuration mode.
Replace GIA if problem persists.
GPS2 FAIL – GPS2 is inoperative.
The system has detected a failure
in GPS2 receiver.
LOI – GPS integrity lost.
Crosscheck with other NAVS.
If the primary receiver is a WAAS
sensor, the alert indicates that
GPS position data has timed out.
GPS NAV LOST – Loss of GPS
navigation. Insufficient satellites.
There is no GPS position fix
available or the system is in dead
reckoning mode.
GPS NAV LOST – Loss of GPS
navigation. Position error.
The G1000 has detected an
internal position warning has
occurred.
GPS NAV LOST – Loss of GPS
navigation. GPS fail.
The G1000 has detected a GPS
engine failure.
