7.5.2 Transponder Configuration Page Setup
Change only the fields listed in the procedure below. Changing other fields could result in an inoperable
transponder.

1. On the PFD, select the GTX page group, then select the Transponder Configuration page.
2. Press the FMS knob to activate the cursor and enter the VFR code in the SET column if missing
or incorrect using the FMS knobs. Press the ENT key when finished entering the code to save it.
3. Move the cursor to the ADDRESS TYPE field and select US TAIL for FAA N# registered
aircraft, or HEX ID for non FAA registered aircraft. Press the ENT key after highlighting the
desired type to select it.
4. Move the cursor to the MODE S ADDRESS field and enter the N# or HEX ID number. Press the
ENT key when finished entering the code to save it.
5. Move the cursor to the FLIGHT ID TYPE field and select SAME AS TAIL (N# registrations),
CONFIG ENTRY (HEX ID registrations) or PFD ENTRY (so the pilot can change it). Press the
ENT key to save the selection.
6. Move the cursor to the FLIGHT ID field if desired to enter a default Flight ID number. Press the
ENT key when finished entering the code to save it.
7. Press the FMS knob to de-activate the cursor.
8. Turn off the system and remove the G1000 system software loader card. Reinsert the
supplemental database cards in the bottom slot of each display. Be sure to insert the card
removed from the MFD back into the MFD.
9. Continue to the GTX 33 Testing procedure.
7.5.3 GTX 33 Testing
Apply power to the G1000 and allow system to initialize.
On the PFD, open the ALERT window and verify there are no GTX MANIFEST or configuration error
messages.
